My Grown up Christmas List, Day #3, 21 December 2011

My Grown Up Christmas List
by All Stars

With the flooding at Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City, I think this song is very timely because this really should be our Christmas list. As children, we thought that Christmas was all about the presents and material things but as we grow old, we realized that Christmas was and will always be more than that.

Here's the lyrics to the song...

Do you remember me? I sat upon your kneeI wrote to you with childhood fantasiesWell, I'm all grown up now and still need help somehowI'm not a child but my heart still can dream
So here's my lifelong wishMy grown up Christmas listNot for myselfBut for a world in need

No more lives torn apartThat wars would never startAnd time would heal all hearts

And everyone would have a friendAnd right would always winAnd love would never end, noThis is my grown up Christmas list

As children we believeThe grandest sight to seeWas something lovelyWrapped beneath a tree

But heaven only knowsThat packages and bowsCan never heal a heart ached human soul

No more lives torn apartThat wars would never startAnd time would heal all hearts

And everyone would have a friendAnd right would always winAnd love would never end, noThis is my grown up Christmas list

What is this illusionCalled the innocence of youthMaybe only in our blind beliefCan we ever find the truth

No more lives torn apart(No more torn apart)That wars would never start(Never start)And time would heal all hearts(Oh, hearts)

Everyone would have a friend(One would have a friend)And right would always win(Would always win)And love would never end(Never, never end, no)

This is my grown up Christmas listThis is my only lifelong wishThis is my grown up Christmas list
